With the Super Bowl coming up soon, football has definitely been on our minds lately, as it’s my son’s absolute favorite sport. Which means game day is a big deal in our house, so I’m always looking for fun and easy party snacks that we can enjoy while watching the big game.
And, these cheesy pigs in a blanket have quickly become our favorite game day appetizer. They are such a simple recipe made with flaky crescent rolls, cheddar Little Smokies, and then brushed with garlic butter. Plus, you can customize them by adding a slice of cheese to make them extra cheesy. Pair them with some mustard dipping sauce, and you have a crowd-pleasing party appetizer everyone will love.
The best part is that they are not only for Super Bowl parties, football Sundays, and game day gatherings, but they are perfect to enjoy all year long for holiday get-togethers, graduation parties, potlucks, or even an easy weeknight snack.

Ingredients for Cheesy Pigs in a Blanket
These cheesy pigs in a blanket are the perfect party snack, as they use simple ingredients that can be made quickly when you need a last-minute bite-sized appetizer that everyone will love.
You will need:
- crescent rolls
- cheddar little smokies
- butter (melted)
- garlic powder

How to Make Cheesy Pigs in a Blanket
- Preheat your oven to 375°F, then line a baking sheet with parchment paper (if desired for easier clean-up)
- Unroll the crescent rolls and cut into 3 triangles.
- Add your Little Smokie on top and roll up tightly, starting from the wide end.
- In a small bowl, mix the melted butter and garlic powder.
- Place the rolls seam-side down on your baking sheet, then brush with garlic butter.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.
Variations:
- Wrap different flavors of cheese slices around your Little Smokies to make your pigs in a blanket extra cheesy.
- Try wrapping your Little Smokies with a half slice of bacon before rolling them in the crescent dough.
- After you’ve brushed the butter on, sprinkle with everything bagel seasoning before baking.
