When my boys were small, this puppy chow was one of their most requested sweet snacks. Although we called it monkey munch (or muddy buddies at times), it’s still the same delicious, crunchy chocolate-peanut butter no-bake treat that’s super easy to make and everyone loves.

Plus, it’s not only perfect for afternoon snacking, it’s also great for holiday parties, movie nights, or sharing with friends and families.

Ingredients for Chocolate Peanut Butter Puppy Chow

This super-simple chocolate peanut butter puppy chow is not only a delicious afternoon snack idea for kids but a no-fuss dessert idea that is perfect for feeding a crowd at potlucks, picnics, and parties.

  • Chex cereal
  • semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • peanut butter
  • butter
  • vanilla
  • powdered sugar
  • M&Ms
  • Reese’s Pieces

How to Make Chocolate Peanut Butter Puppy Chow

  1. Add cereal to a large bowl and set aside.
  2. In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the chocolate chips, peanut butter, and butter. Then microwave on high for 30 seconds, stir, and microwave for another 20 seconds (if needed to make sure everything is melted). Stir until smooth.
  3. Pour the chocolate peanut butter mixture over the cereal and gently stir everything until it’s evenly coated.
  4. Add the M&Ms and Reese’s Pieces to the bowl and stir to combine.
  5. Pour the mixture into a gallon-sized storage bag, add the powdered sugar, seal the bag, and shake until everything is well coated.

Store the puppy chow in an airtight container for up to a week in the fridge. You can also store it in a gallon-size storage bag (this is what we do) and just munch on it throughout the week.

This easy puppy chow recipe is a fun, no-bake treat that combines the delicious flavors of chocolate and peanut butter with an extra pop of color and crunch from Reese's Pieces and M&Ms.

Ingredients
  

  • 9 cups Chex cereal corn
  • 12 ounce semi-sweet chocolate chips bag
  • ½ cup peanut butter
  • ¼ cup butter
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • cups powdered sugar
  • 1 cup M&Ms
  • 1 cup Reese's Pieces

Instructions
 

  • Add cereal to a large bowl and set aside.
  • In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the chocolate chips, peanut butter, and butter.
  • Microwave for 30 seconds, stir, and microwave for an additional 20 seconds. Stir until smooth, then add vanilla.
  • Pour the chocolate peanut butter mixture over the Chex cereal and stir until evenly coated.
  • Add the powdered sugar to a gallon-size ziplock bag. Seal the bag and shake until all the cereal has been coated with the powdered sugar.
  • Spread on parchment paper and let cool.

Notes

Store in an airtight container or a Ziplock gallon-size storage bag for up to a week in the refrigerator.
