On Friday nights, it’s a tradition in our home to make homemade pizza. It’s usually nothing fancy, just pizza crust, pizza sauce, mozzarella cheese, and pepperoni from Walmart, and it costs less than $10 to make 2 large pizzas.
It’s not only the perfect quick and easy family dinner, but it’s also budget-friendly and ideal when you are trying to save money on groceries. We usually alternate it with our buffalo chicken pizza (I will share that recipe very soon).
However, I thought I would switch up our traditional pizza night this week and make some delicious French bread pizza instead. This easy, kid-approved recipe is perfect for dinner on busy school nights. It would also be a tasty game-day snack or party appetizer.
Plus, it’s not just your ordinary French bread pizza; it’s the ultimate French bread pizza as it’s loaded with sweet Italian sausage, hearty ground beef, savory pepperoni, and two types of cheese with a crispy-on-the-outside and soft-on-the-inside French bread crust. Here are some more reasons you should try this family-favorite recipe.
Why You Should Make This 3-Meat French Bread Pizza
- With only 7 ingredients, it’s a quick and inexpensive meal, which is perfect to feed the family for less.
- You can easily customize this French bread pizza. Don’t like ground beef? Substitute bacon or add some veggies like green peppers, mushrooms, or onions.
- Super easy to make and as quick as a frozen pizza as it can be on the table in less than 25 minutes (plus it tastes better!)
- Cheaper than takeout. It’s perfect when you are craving that delicious pizza flavor but you are trying to save money.
- It’s so much more convenient because you don’t have to make the pizza dough. Using French bread is a no-fuss way to get dinner on the table fast on busy weeknights.

Easy 3-Meat French Bread Pizza Recipe

Ingredients for 3-Meat French Bread Pizza
This no-fuss French Bread Pizza requires only a few simple ingredients for a tasty and hearty dinner idea that the whole family will love.
You will need:
- French bread- The kind that you find in the bakery section of your grocery store works best.
- pizza sauce- I use store-bought pizza sauce, but you can use homemade if you’d prefer.
- mozzarella cheese
- parmesan cheese
- pepperoni- cut into pieces, or you can buy the pepperoni minis.
- ground sweet Italian sausage
- ground beef

How to Make 3-Meat French Bread Pizza
- Start by preheating your oven to 400°, and cut your loaf of French bread in half lengthwise. Then, place each half, cut side up, on a large baking sheet.
- Brown ground beef and ground sweet Italian sausage in a skillet. Drain any grease.
- Add pepperoni and pizza sauce to the meat mixture and cook for 2 minutes until pizza sauce and pepperoni are warmed.
- Spread the 3-meat sauce on the French bread, and then top with the mozzarella and parmesan cheese.
- Bake for 10 minutes or until cheese is melted.

3 Meat French Bread Pizza
Ingredients
- 1 loaf French bread
- 14 ounce pizza sauce
- ½ pound ground beef cooked
- ½ pound ground Italian sweet sausage cooked
- ½ cup pepperoni cut into pieces
- 2 cups mozzarella cheese shredded
- ½ cup parmesan cheese shredded
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400℉.
- Cut a loaf of French bread in half lengthwise and place it on a baking sheet with the cut side up.
- Brown the ½ pound of ground beef and ½ pound of ground Italian sweet sausage in a skillet over medium heat. Drain the grease.
- Once the ground beef and sausage are cooked, add the ½ cup pepperoni pieces and pizza sauce, then heat for 2 minutes until the meat mixture is warm.
- Spread the meat mixture on the French Bread and top with the 2 cups of mozzarella cheese and ½ cup of parmesan cheese.
- Bake for 10 minutes.
- Cool for 5-7 minutes, then slice into 6 pieces per half loaf for a total of 12 slices.
Notes
- Use the French bread from the grocery store or Walmart. Make sure it's French bread and not Italian, as the Italian is usually softer, which can make the French bread pizza soggy.
- Also, keep in mind that the meat mixture combined with the sauce prevents the bread from becoming soggy, which is often a common problem with traditional French bread pizza. So, if you decide to eliminate any of the meat, you will just have to adjust the amount of sauce that is used.
- Although 10 minutes bake time was perfect for us, if you like your French bread crispier, you can bake it for an extra 2 minutes.
