Now that it’s officially spring, it’s time to open the curtains and dust off those cleaning buckets because it’s finally time to refresh your home for the new season. We can say goodbye to winter’s mess and hello to a sparkling clean spring.

Recently, I shared my 7-day spring cleaning guide to get your home back in shape in the quickest and most efficient way. However, even though that is how I will be deep cleaning my home this spring, I realize that this method won’t work for everyone. Life is hectic.  It can be challenging to add extra cleaning tasks into your day when it may seem like a struggle just to get your regular daily cleaning done.

So, I thought I would create an easy 30-day challenge to help motivate those who are trying to get their spring cleaning done but are unsure what to focus on. If you would prefer just a list of tasks to complete, you can print out my spring cleaning checklist. But I thought a challenge might add a little more motivation, especially when it includes a printable calendar so you have a clear plan of what tasks need to be done and when.

A Few Tips Before You Begin Your Cleaning Challenge

Pick up clutter

Since less stuff means fewer things to clean around, it’s worth it to take some time to clear the clutter before you start to spring clean. It will make the cleaning process go much smoother. Spend a few minutes picking up any clothes off the floor, dishes off the counters, or taking care of anything that doesn’t belong.

Focus on one room at a time

Just as with my 7-day spring cleaning guide, it’s best to focus on one room at a time because it gives you a sense of accomplishment as each room is completed.

Work from top to bottom

The most effective way to clean your home is always to work from top to bottom. Nobody wants to have to go back to clean up what has already been done. So, make sure you are starting from the top and working down so that the dust and debris fall to the floor and you can clean it up at the end.
