Ingredients for Brownie Mix Peppermint Blossom Cookies
These fudgy brownie mix peppermint blossom cookies are made with just a brownie mix and a few more simple ingredients for a fun chocolate and peppermint-flavored cookie that is perfect for parties, cookie exchanges, or when you want a cozy treat to enjoy while watching Christmas movies.
You will need:
- box of brownie mix
- egg
- butter
- flour
- Hershey kisses (candy cane flavor)
- granulated sugar for rolling

How to Make Peppermint Blossom Brownie Cookies
- Preheat your oven to 350°F and line a baking sheet with some parchment paper.
- Unwrap your candy cane Hershey kisses and place them in the refrigerator to chill.
- In a large bowl, mix your brownie mix, butter, egg, and flour.
- Stir until combined. (It will be sticky, especially if using a fudgy brownie mix.) If you find it’s too thick or stiff, you can add a tablespoon of water.
- Chill your dough for 15-20 minutes or until it’s easier to scoop out and roll into a ball. (Still sticky? Stir in 1-2 tablespoons of flour so it’s easier to roll.)
- Roll into 1-inch balls, then dip into sugar to coat.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges look set and slightly cracked.
- After removing them from the oven, gently press the candy cane Hershey kiss in the middle of the cookie.
- Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet until the Hershey kisses are set, and enjoy!
Variations:
- Switch up the Hershey kisses for a different flavor combination.
- Roll the cookie balls in crushed candy canes before baking for even more peppermint flavor.
- Substitute the white granulated sugar for powdered sugar for a snow-dusted effect instead.
Helpful Tips:
- Refrigerate or freeze the Hershey kisses so they don’t melt on the warm cookie.
- Since brownie mix dough can be very sticky, adding the flour will help it have a more cookie-like texture. Keep in mind, you may have to adjust the flour, adding 1-2 tablespoons if the batter is still really sticky after chilling, so it’s easier to roll into a ball (rolling in the sugar will help as well).
- Since brownie mixes can vary, you may also find that your dough is too stiff. You can adjust the recipe by adding 1-2 tablespoons of water if needed.
- Don’t overbake, as you want the cookies to be slightly cracked on top. They will firm up as the cool.
- Let them cool completely on a baking sheet for a few minutes so the Hershey kisses can firm up.
Storage
- Store your cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 4 days.
