As soon as the leaves start to change colors and the air feels crisp, it’s officially apple season. Which means that it’s time to head to our local apple orchard, as apple picking has become one of my favorite traditions to do in the fall. 

It’s always so much fun wandering the rows of trees in search of the perfect apple. But the best part is being able to bring all those fresh apples home and turning them into delicious apple desserts and snacks like this comforting homemade cinnamon applesauce.

  • Apples
  • Water
  • Brown Sugar
  • Cinnamon

How to Make Homemade Cinnamon Applesauce

  1. In a large saucepan, combine your apples, water, brown sugar, and cinnamon.
  2. Cook over medium heat for about 20 minutes or until your apples are soft, stirring occasionally.
  3. Once the apples have softened, use a potato masher to get them to the consistency you like.
  4. Let cool before serving and enjoy!

Storage and Leftovers:

  • Store in an airtight container for up to 4-5 days in the fridge. You can also freeze for up to 3 months.
