Let’s face it, weeknights can be stressful enough with activities, homework, and practices. The last thing you want to do after a busy day is watch your kid pick at their plate or refuse to eat what you’ve made for dinner.
Since I have picky eaters in my home, I’m always on the lookout for quick and easy recipes to make mealtime less stressful every night. No one wants to have to be a short-order cook just to get their kid to eat something.
To avoid this, I’ve found ways to encourage my picky eaters to try new recipes by switching up their favorite foods. For instance, if you have a pizza lover in your home, find recipes that have all those flavors your kids love, like pizza casserole, pizza chicken, or a pizza grilled cheese sandwich (find these easy and tasty recipes below).
Kids love macaroni and cheese so try to jazz up their favorite mac and cheese recipe by adding different flavors of cheese, meats, and veggies. Making foods that seem familiar to them, may encourage them to try new recipes. This is also a great way to sneak in some veggies, like shredded carrots and zucchini.
In case you are still struggling to come up with easy recipes your kids will love, I’ve gathered up 50 kid-friendly dinners that are perfect for busy school nights. Most of these recipes require simple ingredients and can be made up in less than 30 minutes.
