Every Friday night is pizza night in our home. It’s been a tradition that we have stuck with since our boys were small. It something fun to look forward to, so I’m always on the lookout for new homemade pizza recipes.

And, since I’ve really been into using our Blackstone griddle lately I thought I would try making pepperoni pizza on the Blackstone and it’s didn’t disappoint. In fact, I actually prefer it to oven baked pizza. It’s that good!

Plus, it’s perfect to make in the hot summer months when you have a craving for pizza but don’t want to heat up your house by using your oven.

So, I thought I would share this easy Blackstone Pepperoni Pizza recipe that is perfect for beginners. You can make it on your pizza night as it’s ideal for family dinners, serve as a game day snack, or to feed a crowd this summer.

Why You Will Love This Blackstone Pizza Recipe

  • Uses simple kid-friendly ingredients that you may already have in your pantry and fridge.
  • Easy to customize, as you can make cheese pizza, or add veggies or Italian sausage, ham, or bacon.
  • Quick to make on the Blackstone, and the perfect beginner-friendly recipe if you are just starting out.
  • Budget-friendly, as it’s less expensive than takeout pizza and it’s just as delicious.

Two pizzas on Blackstone griddle

How to Make Pizza on the Blackstone

  1. Prepare your pizza crust according to the package instructions. (You can also use your favorite pizza dough if you would prefer.)
  2. Shape your pizza dough until it’s round or oval.
  3. Preheat your Blackstone to medium-low heat and coat the surface with avocado oil.
  4. Then, place the dough on the griddle and cook for 3-4 minutes or until the bottom is lightly brown and flip with a spatula.
  5. Spread your pizza sauce evenly around the pizza dough and then add the mozzarella cheese and pepperoni slices.
  6. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and Italian seasoning.
  7. Cover with a dome lid and cook for 2-3 minutes or until the cheese is melted and the crust is brown. (Watch closely as the bottom can cook quickly- you can turn down to low heat if it’s cooking too fast so it doesn’t burn).

Helpful Tips

  • This recipe makes one pizza that can feed 1-2 people. We usually double or triple the recipe to feed a family of four.
  • If you decide to add extra topping, don’t overload as it may make the crust soggy.
  • You don’t have to use a melting dome if you don’t have one but it helps to melt the cheese faster.

Variations

  • Add extra mozzarella cheese and omit the pepperoni for an extra cheesy cheese pizza.
  • Top with cooked sausage, bacon, ham for a triple meat pizza.
  • Love supreme pizza? Add some onions, peppers and mushrooms to the pizza.
  • Try BBQ chicken pizza or buffalo chicken pizza. (they are already on our list of homemade pizza to try on the griddle).

Storage

  • Store in an airtight container or wrap in foil or plastic wrap for up to 3 days.
