How to Make Double Chocolate Blossom Cookies

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F, then line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Unwrap your chocolate kisses and place them in the freezer to chill.
  3. In a large bowl, mix the butter (softened) and brown sugar. Then, add the egg and vanilla and mix until creamy.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. Add to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined.
  5. Chill your dough for 20-30 minutes or until it’s easier to scoop out and roll into a ball.
  6. Roll into 1-inch balls, then dip into the granulated sugar to coat.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges look set and slightly cracked.
  8. After removing them from the oven, gently press the chocolate kiss in the middle of the cookie.
  9. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet until the Hershey kisses are set, and enjoy!

Variations:

  • Switch up the Hershey Kisses for different flavor blossom cookies.
  • Add Reese’s trees and holiday sprinkles for a festive treat.
  • Substitute the white granulated sugar for powdered sugar so it looks like a crinkle cookie.

Helpful Tips:

  • The dough is sticky, so you will have to chill it in the fridge, or you can put it in the freezer if you are short on time.
  • Make sure to freeze the Hershey kisses so they don’t melt on the warm cookie.
  • Don’t overbake, as you want the cookies to be slightly cracked on top so you can easily press the chocolate kiss on top. The cookies will firm up as they cool.
  • Let them cool completely on a baking sheet for a few minutes so the Hershey kisses can harden.

Storage

  • Store your cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for 4-5 days.
